M.A. “Art” Chaudry
Chief Executive Officer and President
Art is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the community development company, including oversight of SCB’s growing assets and portfolio in both residential and commercial real estate, project management, and business development of new opportunities and implementation of business strategies.
Art previously was executive vice president and chief financial officer at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. Before that, he had been Jackson County’s chief administrative officer. Prior work experience also includes executive level assignments with Hoechst Marion Roussel, H & R Block, and the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club.
Mr. Chaudry earned a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He currently is a member of the Board of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, where he previously served as chairman.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Pearson has over forty years of experience in tax law, finance and accounting. With a Juris Doctorate from Tulane University and a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University, Mr. Pearson was a partner at BKD, LLP and worked there with a specialization in taxation for more than 30 years. He has served as a New Business Specialist for Swope Community Enterprises since 2009.
Mr. Pearson is a respected business and community leader who has worked effectively with a broad range of community, public and private sector stakeholders. He is a member of numerous Professional Organizations, and has served as Chairman and Board Member to several committees, task forces and organizations for both professional affiliations and community activities.
